2014 › ARS Academy › Other Pixel Streets considers new means of urban decoration through an interactive installation aimed at patrons of the city. A hidden camera detects the coloured clothing of city patrons, and then lights up part of the Ars Electronica Centre with this colour. Overtime a collection of colour forms a pattern on the centre, reflecting the colours of the city.
By engaging the audience with a sudden display of colour, the project allows for audience interaction with their urban environment, creating the feeling of presence and a sense of belonging in the city. Seeing a visual display of colour that matches the individual provides a unique experience for visitors and patrons of the city alike. Project Team
