Madeline ByrneFor the Bear
|
2015 › MECA › BFA (Animation) For the Bear is a digitally hand-drawn animated short. It is the tale of three lost dwarfs and their creative escape when encountering a large, angry bear in the depths of the forest. For the Bear took nearly a year of development in conjunction with other studies. My intention was to create something that inspired nostalgia, whimsy and humour. The film is the conclusion to my degree, and has become the foundation from which I intend to improve upon in the future.
The piece itself is a testament to the revival of traditional, 2D animation and the everlasting appeal of hand-drawn animation. My hope is to ignite the interests and imaginations of audiences through use of traditional animation and storytelling, and contribute to the resurgence of the craft during an era overpowered by computerised, 3D animation. |
